Use blueprints and designs sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.Role Priorities:1. Problem Resolution: Production2. Customer Satisfaction/ Relations3. SafetyResponsibilities:* Performs a full range of machine shop work at the skilled trade level, including making new or replacement of various components parts.* Operates all common machine tools, such as lathe, boring mill, drill press, grinders, etc.* Understands working properties of common metals, can read a variety of semi-complex blueprints, sketches, damaged parts or description of parts.* Maintain the machine area clean and free of debris* Actively participate in cells continuous improvement initiatives (ACE).* Demonstrates safe work habits and maintains neat and orderly work area; machine equipment and safety guards* Interface with internal and/or external customers (visitors/auditors) as required* Work close with Machine Shop Supervisor/Lead Machinist, Engineering, Technicians, etc., to resolve problems within the production/manufacturing line* Maintain accurate and legible records as required by the department, quality and safety according to the company and FAA regulations* Provide excellent support to help meet cell and company’s goals.* May operate computer console/computer controlled machine. Uses precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of workEH&S Key Job Responsibilities:* Support site’s EH&S Program* Comply with EH&S Cardinal Rules* Comply with EH&S Policies and PPE requirements* Attend all required training* Report near misses and unsafe actsMinimum Educational Requirements:HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
