Histology Technologist: Pathology

  


Summary:
Provides quality routine Hematoxylin, Eosin, immunohistochemically and histochemically stained slides to pathologist for routine and complex diagnosis and prognostic markers.

Detailed responsibilities:
• Embeds and sections processed tissue sections to provide slides for diagnosis. Sections frozen tissue to provide slides for quick diagnosis during surgical procedures.
• Performs special staining of interstitial elements of tissue sections and body fluids to include microorganisms and various cellular components, including antigens and enzymes for complex diagnosis and prognostic markers.
• Maintains, calibrates, and troubleshoots equipment used for staining, embedding, and sectioning specimens. Maintains instruments and supplies.
• Performs quality control testing and quality assurance assessments.
