Overview
Job Purpose
Provides leadership and experienced guidance to help the team develop quality solutions using best practices. Organizes Subject Matter Experts (SME) in multiple technologies to plan and implement standards and best practices for other teams. Leads development team, instructs, mentors, and provides constructive feedback to individual developers.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties
- Manage Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables
- Analyze business requirements and estimate level of effort
- Leading Development teams using technologies like: C#, .Net, Java, HTML5, CSS3, AngularJS, Web Services, AWS
- Provide experienced leadership guidance in Agile Development Methodologies
- Guide team for technical goals in CI, DevOps, and related automation
- Manage contributor performance reviews and career coaching for focused technical teams
- Guide development teams on strategic project deliverables
- Assess team needs and recommendations for future needs
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- JDBC/SQL/Relational Databases (i.e. MS SQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB)
- Web UI development using HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- AWS
- Gradle/Maven based Java build tools
- Subversion, GIT
- Linux/Windows
- Ability to work with diverse teams
- Ability to take total ownership of assigned components
- Team Player and a self-starter
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability and willingness to pick up and learn new technologies
- Aptitude for learning new technologies. (Elastic, node.js, MongoDB)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 10 years of development experience
- 4 years of leadership in development projects
- 2 years of architecture or design role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Visual Studio, C#, .Net
- Experience with JavaScript Frameworks (Angular, JQuery, JSON)
- Application Server experience including Tomcat and JBoss
- Experience with Continuous Integration Tools (i.e., Bamboo, Hudson/Jenkins)
- Agile Methodology and Scrum Experience
- Experience with code quality tools including Sonar, Selenium, Mockito
- Experience with CI and Automation (Bamboo, Gradle, Selenium, SoapUI)
Physical Demands
Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
