POSITION: Vice President, Three-tier E-Commerce DEPARTMENT: Chief Growth Office REPORTS TO: Chief Growth Officer PREFERRED LOCATION: Miami, FL; Dallas, TX; Oakland, CA; New York, NY; Chicago, IL POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President (VP), Three-tier e-commerce, will lead a new Three-tier E-Commerce organization for Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits (SGWS), the world’s pre-eminent distributor of beverage alcohol. This team is responsible for the e-commerce strategy and execution to sell and service beverage alcohol e-commerce retailers including National Accounts, Regional Accounts, pure play or omnichannel, and delivery services platforms. The VP will be responsible for the team’s management and performance including— leading account management strategy and business development approach, developing and managing pricing strategy, developing performance targets, creating and managing the team’s roadmap, managing supplier relationships, and managing the team’s HR and talent strategy. The team will be incubated in the Chief Growth Office and the VP will partner with members of the Chief Growth Office, the National Accounts organization, and Commercial Transformation team who are developing the team’s organizational design and initial talent, account management, and commercial offering strategy. This individual is also expected to effectively collaborate and coordinate work across functions and organizations at SGWS. The Three-tier e-commerce organization will eventually be transitioned to the National Accounts organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES e-commerce Strategy ● Assess and define the capabilities required to develop and deliver commercial offerings for three-tier e-commerce accounts ● Develop and manage a comprehensive multi-year roadmap for the e-commerce organization ● Develop and manage pricing strategies for commercial offerings Business Development ● Develop strategies to capture share of the beverage alcohol e-commerce market ● Identify new targets—including sourcing new accounts via personal/professional connections ● Discover new opportunities to grow share in existing SGWS accounts—working with existing account leaders ● Nurture and grow relationships with new and existing accounts to capture business, sell/upsell offerings as they become available and negotiate exchanges of value ● Develop and manage supplier relationships proactively to identify ways to partner and to maintain/deepen relationships; secure supplier resources to support specific account activities Team Management ● Prioritize and assign accounts for team to manage and/or pilot offerings with; continuously manage team’s workload ● Manage the team’s budget and overall team performance ● Provide individual feedback/coaching, manage promotions/compensations, career pathing, and professional development Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS ● E-Commerce strategy development and execution ● Sales and business development ● Account management ● Personnel management and leadership ● Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills ● Excellent communication, marketing, and presentation skills—written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships ● Pricing strategy and execution development ● Experience growing a business and/or team ● Ability to train and teach e-commerce skills and capabilities to others / team ● Collaboration and cross-functional stakeholder management—ability to influence decision makers in a matrix environment ● Comfortable with ambiguity ● Ability to lead and manage a remote team ● Expertise with MS Office Suite EDUCATION ● Bachelor’s Degree Required ● MBA Preferred EXPERIENCE Required: ● 5+ years of e-commerce experience ● 5+ years of sales and business development experience ● 15+ Years of business experience ● Experience leading a 5+ person team ● Experience working in a dynamic fast paced agile environment ● E-commerce retailer experience preferred ● Bev Alc industry experience preferred ● CPG industry experience preferred TRAVEL ● Domestic travel, up to 50% Job : Sales Primary Location : United States-Florida-Miramar Other Locations : United States-New York-New York City, United States-California-Oakland, United States-Texas-Dallas, United States-Illinois-Chicago Shift : Day Shift
