Director and Senior Corporate Counsel

Arise seeks an organized and motivated Director and Senior Corporate Counsel with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join our small in-house legal team. This position will report directly to the General Counsel and is a key, high profile, role within the company.  The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and will have extensive interaction with the business. Agility is one of our key values and the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to cover a diverse mix of general corporate matters, as well as support various internal clients.

Responsibilities

Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and agreements, including but not limited to client contracts, technology contracts and procurement and vendor agreements
Provide informed, thoughtful, practical, creative, and timely legal counsel to all operational and administrative departments within the company in connection with the review and execution of operational agreements
Foster strong relationships with the business teams and develop an understanding of business strategies and objectives to better serve their needs
Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
Monitor legal developments and trends and provides training to business units on relevant legal issues
Act as principal point of contact with external counsel and compliance agencies regarding business complaints and issues
Assist with legal department projects as assigned

Qualifications

A Juris Doctor from a well-recognized and fully accredited law school, and an outstanding academic record, and a member of the Florida (or other state) Bar in good standing
At least seven years of professional experience
Experience in drafting and negotiation of a wide variety commercial contracts
Demonstrated capability in negotiating complex legal transactions
High volume commercial transactions experience
Prior top tier law firm experience and/or in-house experience (preferred)
Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
Analyze and translate difficult legal principles into practical business solutions and confidently interact with Executives and Department Managers
Ability to learn quickly and work independently with little supervision
Ability to influence others while maintaining high levels of integrity and discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
Some travel may be required
